THEMP Nagar police have arrested a man for allegedly sexually exploiting a 26 year-old woman after promising to marry her. Acting swiftly on the victim’s complaint, the police managed to apprehend the accused within just twelve hours of registering the case. According to police sources, the 26-year-old victim, a resident of Raisen district currently living in Bhopal, filed a written com plaint against a man identiied as Surendra Thakur. The victim alleged that Thakur lured her into a relationship with the promise of marriage and exploit ed her physically over several months.
 
The situation escalated when the woman pressured the accused to fulfill his promise and finalise the marriage. Thakur reportedly refused to marry her and abandoned her, prompting the victim to seek legal intervention. Taking the sensitivity of the matter into account, the MP Nagar police registered a case under relevant sections of the law.
 
Under the leader ship of the Station House Officer (SHO), a special team was formed to track the suspect. Using technical surveillance and local intelligence, the team successfully tracked Thakur’s location. In a co-ordinated operation, the police cordoned off the area and arrested the accused just two hours after the FIR was lodged.
