IN Aheart-wrenching accident in the Kamala Nagar area of the State capital, Meenakshi Patel, a 32-year-old Patwari, passed away on Monday morning. The officer had been battling for her life at a private hospital for ten days following a tragic fall from a terrace on December 11. Meenakshi was posted as a Patwari in the Goharganj tehsil of Raisen district and had come to her Bhopal residence on leave. According to police and family sources, the incdent occurred on the evening of December 11 while she was playing with her minor daughter on the terrace. During their playtime, the child’s balloon drifted away and landed on the corrugated roof of a neighbour’s shed.

In an attempt to please her persistent daughter, Meenakshi tried to retrieve the balloon. As she stepped over the boundary and onto the neighbour’s shed, she lost her footing. The fragile sheets of the shed could not sustain her weight and gave way, causing her to plunge several feet to the ground. The family rushed her to a private hospital immediately after the accident. Medical professionals stated that the fall resulted in severe head trauma, leading to internal blood clotting. Despite intensive medical intervention over the last ten days, her condition deteriorated, and she breathed her last on Monday.
