“IN AN age of sleek modern vehicles, certain classics whisper stories of simplicity, family milestones, and enduring grace,” says Ashish Vijay Limbanna, automobile workshop owner and a specialist restorer of vintage and classic cars, about his cherished 1955 Morris Minor. Among the many vintage beauties to grace the Rotary-The Hitavada Vintage Car Rally organised in association with Cent Ind Vintage Automobile Association on December 28 at St Ursula School ground, this light-blue Morris Minor will effortlessly turn heads and stir hearts. “This beautiful Morris Minor continues to turn heads on the streets of Nagpur, standing as a reminder of an era when automobiles were built with simplicity, character, and durability,” said Limbanna. Manufactured in 1955 in England, the car represents classic design and vintage charm that endured for decades. The vehicle’s condition reflects careful preservation and regular maintenance over the years. “My car still remains on the road, not preserved behind glass but actively driven and cared for,” shared Limbanna.

The Morris Minor also holds a nostalgic place in Limbanna’s personal history. In 1979, a similar Morris car bearing registration BYJ-3639 was used in his parents’ wedding, belonging to Brahamadath Nangia of Western Book Depot in Sadar. “That momentous occasion marked its presence in a significant family event, adding layers to the story passed down through generations,” said the expert vintage automobile restorer. Maintaining a car of this age comes with challenges, particularly in sourcing spare parts and servicing, it yet remains road-worthy and well cared for. “More than six decades after it first took to the road, the 1955 Morris Minor continues to carry its legacy forward quietly, steadily and with enduring grace,” Limbanna concluded.
