ENERGY Minister Pradyumn
Singh Tomar reviewed the
progress of the Samadhan Yojana
through a video conference on
Tuesday. He emphasised the
need to accelerate target achievement and ensure that the scheme
reaches every village, street, and
neighbourhood. Tomar also
directed officials that farmers be
provided with uninterrupted 10
hour electricity supply during
the Rabi season.
The minister instructed officials that no disruption in electricity distribution will be tolerated in the State.
He stressed that
the primary responsibility of
power companies is to provide
consumers with quality and adequate electricity and to collect
payments at reasonable rates
based on actual consumption. He
also highlighted that Madhya
Pradesh is a power-surplus state
and that the government is taking rapid steps to expand solar
energy. For the success of the
Samadhan Yojana, he asked officers at the divisional and district
levels to ensure accountability of
their subordinate executive engineers, assistant engineers, and
junior engineers.
He stressed the
importance of raising awareness
among consumers about the
scheme to achieve targets.Tomar pointed out that the
progress of the first phase of the
scheme has not been satisfactory so far. With only about a week
remaining to complete the first
phase, he instructed officers to
work at a war-footing to ensure
that the benefits reach consumers at the ground level. He also directed officers to personally contact eligible consumers with pending dues of
over two lakh rupees.
The minister further instructed that daily progress reports on the
scheme be provided at the level of Chief Engineer and Chief
General Manager. Tomar clarified that the first phase of the
Samadhan Yojana will run until
December 31, and the second
phase will continue from
January 1 to February 28, 2026.
The scheme covers domestic,
non-domestic, and agricultural consumers, as well as those
whose electricity connections
have been disconnected,
enabling them to pay out
standing dues and regain their
status as regular consumers.
