ICAI hold seminar on Urban Co-op Banks

 

 

A ONE-DAY seminar for officers of Urban Cooperative Banks (UCBs) and Chartered Accountants (CAs) was organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), New Delhi, and hosted by the Nagpur Branch of ICAI. The seminar was inaugurated by the chief guest, Sanjay Bhende, Chairman of Nagpur Nagrik Sahakari Bank. In his inaugural address, Bhende emphasised the importance of cooperation and transparency within cooperative banking institutions. He urged bank officials to maintain continuous and open communication with management to ensure early identification of stress areas and timely disclosure of red flags, thereby strengthening governance and depositor confidence.

 

The session was coordinated by CA Swaroopa Wazalwar. The welcome address was delivered by CA Dinesh Rathi, Chairman, ICAI Nagpur Branch, who highlighted the vital role played by Urban Cooperative Banks in the Indian financial system. CA Jiten Saglani, RCM (WIRC), ICAI,CA Dhananjay Gokhale , CA Tusharkanti Dable, Ceoul Ukey, Manager, RBI, CA Ankush Kesharwani, CA Prateek Palan, CA Ashish Agrawal, and a large number of dignitaries were present.
