gymnasts from Phoenix Gymnastics Academy, Gopalnagar excelled in the Under-10 Artistic Gymnastics competition, clinching 13 medals and securing first position in the meet.
The event was organised by District Sports Office, as part of the sports week celebrations held from December 12 to 18.
The gymnastics competition for U-10 boys and girls took place at Divisional Sports Complex, Mankapur.
Out of a 18 medals on offer, Phoenix Academy bagged four gold, four silver and five bronze medals to emerge overall champions.
Abhang Raut dominated the boys’ section, sweeping three gold medals in floor, vault and all-round events.
In the girls category, Arayna Nangia excelled with gold in floor,
silver in all-round and bronze in vault, taking home three medals.
Rudransh Dharmadhikari secured two silver medals in all-round and vault while Ridhan Bhoyar claimed silver in floor and bronze in all-round.
Dev Lalsare earned a bronze in vault,
and Yoshita Shahare bagged bronze medals in both all-round and vault.
All the medal winners train under the guidance of international gymnast coach Prachi Parkhi and Gayatri Yerapude.
The outstanding performance of the Phoenix Gymnastics Academy gymnasts has been lauded by Deputy Director of Sports and Youth Services, Nagpur Divisional Pallavi Dhatrak, Maya Dubale, Nishant Patil, Gymnastics Association Nagpur Secretary Purushottam Darwankar, Academy vice-president Dr Shrikant Parkhi, members Anushree Parkhi and Dr Pradeep Bibte as well as Registrar Dr Neeraj Khati.
