THE wait is finally over!
Lovers of the old beauties will throng the St Ursula School ground in Civil Lines on Sunday morning to have a glimpse of a host of vintage vehicles that would be taking part in the Rotary-The Hitavada Vintage Car Rally to be held in association with Cent Ind Vintage Automotive Association Nagpur (CIVAA).
The bold and beautiful four-wheelers and two-wheelers of an era gone by, that will be brought at the venue by their passionate owners, would surely hold the admirers in awe. About 50 vintage cars and as many two-wheelers have been registered and will take their designated places on the field starting at 8 am.
To name a few, the
rally will witness classic models of Mercedes, Chevrolet, Beetle, Land Rover, Dodge Kingsway, Fiat, Morris Eight Sports Tourer, Landmaster, Willy’s Jeep among four-wheelers and Matchless, Triumph, Norton, Yezdi, Lambretta and Vespa among
two-wheelers.
The venue will be open for public from 9 am.
The first vehicle will be flagged off by chief guest Commissioner of Police Dr Ravinder Singal at
10 am.
The vehicles will be covering about 12.5 kms moving from Civil Lines to Dharampeth, Laxminagar, Ramdaspeth and back. All the vehicles are expected to be back at the venue
by 11.30 am. Once the vehicles return to the venue, they will be on static display for the vintage aficionados to appreciate the beauties.
Handing over of participation certificates and mementoes by 4 pm will
signal end of the pomp show and the vintage vehicles will start rolling out of the ground by 5 pm.
Rotary Club of Nagpur Working President Parag Date, Vice-President Mahendra Kamath, President Elect Gogi Bhasin, Project Directors Rukshad Bhagwagar and Shahrukh Cassad, Akash Jain, Manisha Agrawal, Akhil Bhargava, Abhishek Goyal and Rotaract clubs associated with Rotary Club of Nagpur have been
working tirelessly for over a month to make the event a resounding success and a memorable one.
