JAMUL police, in coordination
with the Bhilai Municipal
Corporation (BMC), demolished
the unauthorised extended construction at the shop of the prime
accused in the Bhilai firing case.
Police said that the action was
the part of intensified measures
to curb heinous crime and ensure
all due legal steps against offenders involved in grave offences.
On
Wednesday morning, the Jamul
police team, assisted by the AD
squad and BMC’s demolition
unit, reached the spot. A JCB was
deployed to pull down the illegal extensions raised by accused
Karan Sao (27), resident of
Baikunthdham, Chhawni, Bhilai.
He was the prime accused in the
firing case of Bhilai and is in jail
on judicial remand. The demolition proceeded smoothly, without major resistance.
It may be recalled that on the
evening of November 14, 2025,
around 6:30 pm, an attempt was
made on the life of Vikas Prajapati
(26), resident of Camp-02, Bhilai,
when shots were fired at him in
the Kailash Nagar weekly market.
A case under Section 109(1)
BNS was registered at Jamul Police Station, leading to the
arrest of nine accused in the case. It was revealed in the
probe that Karan Sao allegedly hired contract killers from
Jharkhand and provided them shelter at his warehouse to
execute the attack.
He reportedly paid Rs 55,000 for procuring the pistol and ammunition. A 7.65 mm pistol and cartridges were recovered during the probe.
