Dr Dipen Agrawal, President of Chamber of Associations of Maharashtra Industry & Trade (CAMIT), called upon the newly appointed Pannan Sangchalak, State Market Director, Sanjay Kadam, and extended warm congratulations on his assuming charge.
During the meeting, Dr Agrawal apprised Kadam of several pressing issues concerning the Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMCs) across Maharashtra. Key matters discussed included:- rationalisation of market fees; review of APMC cess and multiple levies; elimination of illegal check posts by market committees; upgradation of market yard infrastructure, etc.
Dr Dipen Agrawal conveyed that addressing these issues will significantly strengthen Maharashtra’s agricultural supply chain and benefit farmers, traders, and consumers alike. Sanjay Kadam gave a patient and positive hearing, assuring that the concerns raised by CAMIT will be duly examined and necessary actions will be taken in the interest of all stakeholders.
CAMIT looks forward to continued cooperation with the State Market Department to bring meaningful reforms for the welfare of the agricultural trade ecosystem across Maharashtra.
