MADHYA Pradesh is set to experience a further dip in temperatures over the next 24 hours, with
night temperatures expected to
fall by 2-3°C, intensifying the early winter chill across the state,
according to the India
Meteorological Department
(IMD). Maximum temperatures
have remained largely steady but
below normal in several districts,
while minimum temperatures
have shown mixed patterns, with
some areas experiencing warmer
nights and others cooler.
Currently, maximum temperatures are 1.5°C to 2.6°C below
normal in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain,
and Jabalpur divisions.
Minimum temperatures are
2.0°C below normal in parts of
Bhopal division, but appreciably
above normal by around 4.0°C
in Gwalior and Chambal divisions. Pachmarhi recorded the
lowest minimum temperature at
6.7°C, followed by Kalyanpur at
7.1°C, while Prithvipur had the
highest minimum at 15.5°C.
In
daytime temperatures,
Pachmarhi remained the coolest
at 22.6°C, and Narmadapuram
the warmest at 30.7°C. No rainfall was reported anywhere in
the state.
Bhopal recorded a maximum
of 26.0°C, 1.7°C below normal,
and a minimum of 9.2°C, dropping 3.2°C below normal.
Morning humidity stood at 88%
and winds at 8–10 kmph added
to the cold during early hours.
The sky remained mostly clear
with light morning haze.
The current weather pattern
is influenced by multiple synoptic systems. A well-marked
low-pressure area persists
over north Tamil NaduPuducherry, with an associated cyclonic circulation
expected to weaken gradually while moving south west ward. A trough line extending
from this system to
Lakshadweep remains active.
Meanwhile, a Western
Disturbance continues over
north Pakistan and adjoining
Punjab, with an induced circulation over northwest Uttar
Pradesh. A fresh, though feeble, Western Disturbance is
expected to impact the
Western Himalayan region
from December 5, which may
indirectly affect Madhya
Pradesh’s temperature pattern.
IMD forecasts dry weather
to continue across the state,
with clear skies and calm
winds overnight likely to push
minimum temperatures
down further.
Residents are
advised to wear adequate
warm clothing and follow official weather alerts as the early winter chill intensifies.
