CHHATTISGARH Chief
Minister Vishnu Deo in a statement following the killing of 12
Maoists in an encounter in
Bijapur district, described the
operation as a major success in
the ongoing anti-Naxal campaign. He emphasised that this
action demonstrates the unwavering determination of security forces to completely eradicate Maoism from State.
The Chief Minister explained
that a joint team of security personnel was conducting a search
and combing operation in
Bijapur when an encounter took
place. During the gunfight, 12
Maoists were neutralised.
However, three members of the
District Reserve Guard Head
Constable Monu Waddi,
Constable Dukaru Gonde, and
Constable Ramesh Sodi lost
their lives in the line of duty.
Paying tribute to the martyred jawans, the Chief Minister
extended his condolences,
praying for strength for their
bereaved families and peace for
the departed souls. He further
informed that two other injured
personnel are out of danger and
are receiving appropriate medical treatment.
He wished them
a speedy recovery.
Describing the encounter as
a clear sign that ‘end of red terror is imminent’ the Chief
Minister asserted that neither
the government nor the security forces will relent in the mission to eliminate Maoism and
affirmed that the campaign will
continue until peace, security,
and development reach the last
village of Bastar.
He added that the sacrifice
of the martyred personnel will
not be in vain, reaffirming the
state’s commitment to ensuring permanent peace in Maoist affected regions.
