RANJHI police succeeded in
apprehending a notorious criminal under National Security Act
(NSA) and taken out his juloos
to develop threat of police
amongst anti-social elements,
on Wednesday. The accused has
been identified as Sanju Patel
(25), son of Krishna Kumar Patel,
a resident of Purani Basti,
Vishwakarma Mohalla in Ranjhi.
Ranjhi Police have arrested Sanju
Patel, who is booked in total 27
criminal cases, under the NSA
warrant. SHO of Ranjhi police station, Umesh Golhani, informed
that Sanju Patel of Ranjhi, is a
habitual offender involved in
criminal activities since 2017.
He
has been booked in 27 cases,
including attempt to murder,
Explosive Substances Act, extortion, theft, Excise Act violations,
Arms Act offences and assault.
Several preventive actions were
also taken against him earlier.
Due to Sanju Patel’s continuous
criminal activities, an atmosphere of fear and terror prevailed
in the area. People were afraid
to give information or file complaints, feeling unsafe. Despite
repeated actions by police, he
did not mend his ways and continued committing crimes.
Considering that his free movement posed a serious threat to
human life, SP Sampat Upadhyay
(IPS) directed the initiation of
preventive action under the
National Security Act, 1980
(Section 3 read with Section 2).
Following the instructions,
Additional SP (City) Ayush Gupta
(IPS) and CSP Ranjhi Satish
Kumar Sahu prepared the NSA
case against Sanju Patel and presented it before the District
Magistrate.
After reviewing his
criminal activities, District
Magistrate Raghavendra Singh
(IAS) issued the NSA warrant and
ordered his detention in Central
Jail, Jabalpur. Accordingly, notorious criminal Sanju Patel has
been arrested under the NSA and
is being lodged in Central Jail,
Jabalpur.
