SHAHPURA police have arrested two accused involved in illegal trade of liquor and seized 311
pouches of illicit liquor and a
motorcycle from them. The
arrested have been identified as
Aman Singh Gour (21), a resident
of Village Kevlari, Belkheda and
Santosh Thakur (45), resident of
Mankedi, Pindrai, Belkheda.
SHO of Shahpura Police
Station Praveen Dhurve
informed that, a reliable tip-off
was received that two men were
transporting a large quantity of
liquor on a motorcycle from
Jabalpur towards Belkheda.
Acting promptly on the information, police team started a
search on the
Shahpura–Belkheda Highway.
Near Natwara village, officers
spotted the motorcycle with two
men. Witnessing the police, both
attempted to escape but were
caught after a chase. The accused
identified themselves as Aman
Singh Gour and Santosh Thakur
of Belkheda. In their search,
police found 311 pouches
of country liquor stored in
three bags tied to their motorcycle.
The liquor, along with the
unregistered motorcycle was
seized and a case has been registered against them under
Section 34(2) of the Excise Act.
The accused were apprehended with active working of
police team comprised of SI,
Mahendra Jatav and
Constables Amit, Ranjeet and
Rahul.
