BHARATIYA Janata Party State President Kiran Singh Deo described the two-year tenure of the BJP Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, as a true reflection of fulfilled commitments and concrete achievements. He said the Government has earned public trust by delivering on its promise, made under the ‘Modi Guarantee’ during the assembly elections, to provide a permanent home to every underprivileged family in State.

Deo stated that on the second day after assuming office, the cabinet approved Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) benefits for 18,12,743 eligible families. Since the inception of the scheme, more than 2.6 million housing units have been sanctioned across rural and urban Chhattisgarh. Under PMAY-Gramin, out of the target of 26,27,223 houses, 24,22,571 have been approved, and 16,72,002 houses have been completed between 2016 and 2026.

With nearly 2,000 houses being constructed daily, Chhattisgarh now stands first in the country in terms of housing construction pace. Deo added that under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyay Maha Abhiyan, 33,217 houses have been approved for special backward tribal families. In addition, 38,798 homeless families have received approval under the Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme (Gramin).

Deo informed that 15,000 houses have been sanctioned for surrendered Naxalites and Naxalaffected families in sensitive regions of the state. Security camps in these regions are being strengthened within a 10- kilometer radius. Under the Niyada Nellanar project, 13,788 houses are targeted across 327 villages, while 1.32 lakh houses are planned for urban areas under PMAY 2.0.

He further stated that more than 8,000 women self-help group members have become Lakhpati Didis by supplying construction materials such as centering plates under the Awas se Ajeevika initiative. The Atal Digital Suvidha Kendra has eased the process of receiving PMAY-G installments for beneficiaries in over 4,500 gram panchayats, ensuring faster and more transparent access to funds
