Gunnampally, Chahallani in final

 

Hyderabad’s Vishwas Reddy Gunnampally and Mumbai’s Aarav Chahallani stormed into the final of the boys section of the ongoing MSLTA-NDHTA Under-14 All India Ranking National Series for Boys and Girls, on Friday. In the first semis, Nagpur’s Pranav Gaikwad (seed 3) went down to second seed Gunnampally to end his campaign. In the first set, Hyderbad’s Vishwak blanked Pranav 6-0 and then took the second set 6-2 to move into the summit clash. Top-seed Chahallani from Mumbai overpowered city-mate Vir Chattur (seed 4) 6-4, 6-2 to book a date with Gunnampally. In the girls singles semis, top-seed Parinitha V blanked Aleeza Simra from Hyderabad 6-0, 6-0, while in the other last four clash, Noida’s second seed Sidhhi Pandey beat Delhi girl Shubhi Sharma (seed 3) 6-2, 7-5. Both players in boys and girls singles are also in the doubles finals.

 

Top-seeded Aarav and Vishwak overcame Taksheel Naagar and Devansh Acharya pair 7-5, 6-3 in the boys doubles event while Pranav Gaikwad and Archan Pathak (seed 3) lost to second-seed Vir Chattur and Sparsh Patil 6-2, 7-5. Top-seeded Parinitha V and Sidhhi Pandey beat Aditri Singh and Vaidehi Shinde (seed 3) 6-2, 6-1 and Falak Mehta and Shubhui Sharma (seed 2) fought hard against Adira Bhagat and Sara Fengse (seed 4) till the tie breaker with the score 6-4, 3-6, 10-7. The finals will be played on Saturday morning.
