Member of Parliament Ashish Dubey has urged Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr Mansukh Mandaviya for constructing an international stadium in Jabalpur. During a meeting in New Delhi, Dubey submitted a memorandum outlining the need for such a facility in the city. In the memorandum, Dubey emphasised Jabalpur’s significance as a key city in Madhya Pradesh, home to several universities, colleges and the prestigious IIITDM. Likewise, the city is a major defense hub with multiple defense establishments. He said despite Jabalpur’s rich sporting culture and its contribution to national and international-level athletes, the city lacks adequate sports infrastructure. This prevents talented players from gaining the recognition they deserve on global platforms. Dubey said an international stadium in Jabalpur would not only benefit the Mahakoshal region but also serve as a vital sporting hub for Central India. He further stated that such a project would generate employment opportunities, boost tourism and positively impact local businesses.

The MP also said that the stadium could host large-scale cultural events, promote local traditions and elevate Jabalpur’s status as a modern and well-developed city. Improved infrastructure, including roads and parking facilities would be another key advantage that would expedite the city’s overall growth and development. Dubey urged the Union Sports Minister to prioritise the project. He emphasised that it would not only promote sports in the region but also contribute to Jabalpur’s transformation into a thriving metropolitan centre.
