FinTech promises a booming economic market in India, capable of creating tens of thousands of jobs in coming years. India needs initiatives to upskill its workforce in this domain, particularly its young generations. Thus, the Computer Science and Engineering Department of IIT Bhilai organised a 5-day Boot Camp on FinTech Security.
Instructors from IIT Hyderabad, NIT Raipur, C-DAC Hyderabad, not to mention IIT Bhilai, imparted training to
about 30 short listed students and professionals on various aspects of FinTech applications and security.
A mini-hackathon was conducted on the last two days, where the participants, divided into groups designed solutions for specific business problems like land records management system, supply-chain software platform, among others.
The jury was chaired by Dr Saurabh Gupta, Joint Secretary of MHA, NATGRID.
Besides, the event also included an exciting fireside chat with Ashwin Srivastava, founder of a host of companies including Sapio Analytics, and a venture capitalist, who took questions from the students on entrepreneurship activities, and shared with them stories of his personal journeys. The coordinator of the event was Head of the Department, CSE Dr Souradyuti Paul. Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology funded the event.
