Commissioner Monica Verma has requested residents to use ponds properly and to secure ponds so that the water level of the water bodies will be improved. She also appealed to people to not use ponds for throwing flowers and other materials to cause dirt
To make all of the ponds across different wards of Risali Municipal Corporation (RMC) beautiful and clean, sanitation workers of the civic body have been appointed to clean all of these ponds for 5 to 6 hours every day. Apart from regular workers of the civic body, fishermen also render their services to remove water plants from the pond so that it would become neat, clean and beautiful.
The civic body has started this campaign this week and it will be continued till the last week of March.
It may be mentioned here that, at present, the pond that is situated near Kalyani Temple and also of Sheetal Pond are in pathetic condition and it is common to see lots of dirtiness in both of these ponds. Even in ponds too, water plants have affected the quality of water and spreading infection all of the areas. Besides these issues, residents of nearby areas also use these ponds to immerse puja materials and leftover flowers which are also playing an important role in causing dirtiness to the ponds.
Therefore, to improve the quality of water and make all of the ponds across wards of the civic body neat, clean, and beautiful, sanitation workers and fishermen are rendering their services and 5 to 6 hours of daily work, the civic body is in planning to remove all of the water plants and make them beautiful. The commissioner of RMC, Monica Verma also does regular inspections of the ponds to see the cleanliness condition of them.
The Commissioner has also instructed officers of the Public Health Department in the civic body to take action against those who will be responsible for causing dirtiness.
In this regard, Commissioner had also conducted meeting with corporators of Kalyani Temple, Laxminagar, and Tank Maroda. Later, the commissioner has also planned to start fish cultivation in these ponds.
