Shri Shaktipeeth, Ram Nagar, has organised a 10-day programme on the occasion of Shri Das Navami Utsav. The programme was inaugurated on Friday with a discourse by Pune-based multilingual scholar and writer Manisha Bathe on ‘Samarth Sampradayatil Paramparik Shikshan’. Smita Kelkar, Secretary of Shri Shaktipeeth, was also present at the event. Bathe, in her discourse, explained how Samarth Ramdas Swami’s objective was to uplift the country through spirituality. She further narrated an episode from the Mahabharat to illustrate her point about perception. She emphasised that how one perceives the world depends on how a person is from inside.

“As is your vision, so is your world. The world appears to you as you are within yourself and in your thoughts,” she noted. She added that before criticising others, a person should do self-reflection first, and suggested that the flaws people see in others often reflect their own shortcomings. Speaking about her Guru Annabuva Kalgaonkar, she recounted various life lessons.

One key teaching, she explained, was that life does not always unfold according to one’s plans. She then shared anecdotes of how her Guru used real- life examples to impart spiritual wisdom. On self-awareness she urged all to identify their weaknesses, address them, and move ahead in life. She recalled her childhood in Sajjangarh, near Satara, Maharashtra, and credited her Guru who encouraged her to leave Satara and pursue higher education in Pune. Bathe is proficient in 11 Indian languages and has received several awards for research and literature work. On February 15, Manisha Bathe will deliver a discourse on ‘Shri Samarth Ramdas Swami Rachit Shakti-Stotre’ at Shri Shaktipeeth, Ram Nagar at 6 pm.
