ALL-ROUNDER Darshan Nalkande has been included in the 17-member Vidarbha Ranji squad for their semi-final match against Mumbai scheduled to be played in VCA, Jamtha Stadium from February 17. VCA’s senior selection committee, which met on Friday, has included all-rounder Nalkande in place of Shubham Kapse who is declared unfit, though reason of his injury was not mentioned in the media release. Naklande was dropped from the side and was replaced with Yash Thakur for Vidarbha’s last league match against Hyderabad. Nalkande was backbone of Vidarbha One-Day side in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in which they finished second best. Nalkande had taken 15 wickets from eight matches. He bowled 72 overs at an average of 28.80. A reliable bowler, Nalkande can be a handy batter as well. Vidarbha team will be led by wicketkeeper-batter Akshay Wadkar.
