Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari took a brief halt at Dumna Airport in the city, on Sunday. A number of public representatives, administrative officials and senior officers from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) were present at the airport to receive him. Gadkari arrived in the city to chair an important meeting with NHAI officials regarding the ongoing national highway projects in the Jabalpur region.

However, due to a delay in his arrival at the airport, the scheduled meeting had to be postponed. Member of Parliament, Ashish Dubey informed that Union Minister Gadkari was running behind schedule for his next engagement in Prayagraj. Due to time constraints, he briefly interacted with public representatives and NHAI officials and discussed ongoing development projects before departing for Prayagraj. Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders including MP Ashish Dubey, BJP City President Ratnesh Sonkar, MLA Ajay Vishnoi, MLA Ashok Rohani and several other party leaders accorded warm welcome to Gadkari on his arrival at Dumna Airport. After the short stay, the Union Road Transport Minister departed to Prayagraj, where he participated in the Maha Kumbh and took a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam.
