The construction of the Aishbagh RoB (Road Over Bridge) in Bhopal is in full swing. The authorities from the Public Works Department (PWD) have ascertained that work on the said project is at last the stage and will be completed soon. The foundation stone for the Aishbagh RoB was laid in May 2022, with an initial completion period of 18 months was set for the project. However, PWD officials have acknowledged a delay of 3 to 4 months in the work, with the possibility of further delays. Javed Shakil, the Executive Engineer of PWD, explained that the delay was partly caused by a two-month electricity shutdown, which hindered the progress.

The construction work, according to Shakil, officially started in 2023. Furthermore, sources have reported that a key issue arose regarding the limited space between the metro pillars and the flyover. Metro officials have confirmed that steps have been taken to resolve this problem, ensuring that it will not hinder the project further. The Aishbagh flyover is a crucial component of a major arterial route that connects Bhogda Bridge with Bhopal Junction and Nadra Bus Station. This stretch of road is notorious for heavy traffic congestion and frequent jams, causing significant inconvenience to daily commuters. Once the flyover is completed, it will provide a smooth, uninterrupted route for those heading towards Aishbagh, reducing travel time and eliminating the need for long detours. Currently, passengers traveling from areas like Jahangirabad or nearby regions are forced to take the railway line underpass, significantly increasing their journey time.

The new flyover will ease this discomfort and offer a more organized, efficient travel experience. Residents of Aishbagh and Jahangirabad have expressed excitement about the upcoming flyover, eagerly awaiting its opening. They believe that the completion of the bridge will result in substantial improvements to daily commuting. The project, which began in May 2023, has been a much-needed development for the area, especially given the increasing population and traffic flow. The flyover, measuring 500.5 meters in length and 8.4 meters in width, has been constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 17.45 crore. Initially, the project was slated for completion within 18 months. However, PWD Engineer confirmed that the construction is now in its final stages. He assured the public that as soon as the finishing touches are completed, the flyover will be opened for public use, bringing significant relief to the residents.
