G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Mines and Coal, unveiled the state-of-the-art hand held gamma-ray spectrometer, acquired by Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL), on Thursday. The introduction of this advanced technology is poised to significantly enhance the exploration of Rare Earth Elements (REE) and other critical minerals vital to India’s strategic development.
The spectrometer, known for its non-invasive, cost-effective, and high-sensitivity features, will revolutionize MECL’s exploration capabilities. I D Narayan, CMD, MECL, delivered an insightful overview of the instrument, emphasizing its transformative potential in identifying valuable mineral deposits, particularly rare earth elements.
