Tips to perform well in Physics exam Std XII

By Rupali Dey :

Focus on basic concepts. If concepts are clear, any application-based question can be attempted. Physics is a practically orientated subject with applications all around. Concept-based questions forms the base of the subject.

Read questions thoroughly.

Students must utilise the reading time diligently in planning how to attempt the paper. This mental planning will definitely help students while writing answers.

Write answers to the point

Having understood the question well, precise answers should be written. Generally, students go on writing all that they know, which doesn't carry marks, which leads to a waste of crucial exam time.

Time management The most important factor during the exam is managing the stipulated time. All the sections (A to E) of the question paper must be attempted within the question-wise set time. Last 15 mins must be kept to check the answers and highlight key words.

Diagrams and Graphs Well-labelled diagrams are expected to support the answers, wherever applicable. In the case of circuit diagrams and ray diagrams, arrows are a must. Graphs must be practiced and drawn wherever required.

Numericals

Problems are an integral part of Physics. The given numeral must be read carefully to understand the given situation. Then the correct selection of the formula, substitution of given values, and appropriate calculation will lead to the expected answer.

Formulas and units Students must learn all the formulas thoroughly. All the units must be learnt, remembered, and written along with values. Stay calm and focused during the exam. Attempt all the known questions initially while maintaining the time limit. Do not leave any question unattempted. All the best to all! (The author is a teacher with Modern School, Koradi Road)
