Residents of Saddu Capital City Phase 1 are on edge after the frequent sighting of a wild Canid species in their colony. The animal has been roaming the area for over a week, triggering fear among locals.
The presence of the wild animal came to light when CCTV footage revealed it wandering around the colony after residents noticed dogs barking daily between 2 and 3 a.m. and outdoor pots being broken.
The unexpected visitor has created a sense of panic among residents, who are concerned about their safety. Despite filing a complaint with the forest department, the residents claim no action has been taken
so far.
A resident shared, “We are
worried that this could lead to an untoward incident if the animal isn’t caught soon.
The colony is bordered by farmland, and it is suspected that the animal suspected to be a jackal or wolf is crossing over from these agricultural areas into the residential space.
The local community is urging the forest department to take immediate action to capture and relocate the animal to prevent potential harm. The situation has left residents wary, especially as children and pets often play outdoors. Many are now avoiding venturing outside after dark until the issue is resolved. Authorities are yet to issue an official response to the incident.
