Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal, under the leadership of Mahakoshal Region President Sunil Bhagchandani, submitted a memorandum to PWD Minister Rakesh Singh addressing the Chief Minister, on Friday. The memorandum raised concerns over the growing issue of ‘land jihad’ in Jabalpur, stating that despite multiple representations to the administration, no concrete action has been taken so far. The memorandum highlighted several key issues, including illegal encroachments on Siddh Baba Hill in Garha Purwa, where unauthorized structures and shrines are being built. Illegal construction of a madrasa and mosque in Vehicle Madai, encroachment around the Boodi Khermai Temple and unregulated cattle smuggling, with several identified locations where such activities are taking place, yet no action has been taken by the authorities. Besides this, VHP and Bajrang Dal emphasized their ongoing campaign for a "Drug-Free Madhya Pradesh" and "Drug-Free Jabalpur."

However, they alleged that certain police stations, including Ghamapur, Ranjhi, Khamaria and Gohalpur, have become hubs for illegal liquor and narcotics trade, due to a lack of administrative control. They warned that if the situation is not curbed, drug addiction among Jabalpur’s youth will rise, leading to an increase in crime and other unlawful activities. A large number of workers from Narmada District, Rani Durgavati District and Ayudh District were present on the occasion. VHP demanded immediate action on these concerns to prevent further encroachment and illegal activities in Jabalpur.
