Final phase of Panchayat polls in 50 blocks today

 

 

The third phase of three-tier Panchayat elections will be held at 11,430 polling stations under 50 blocks of the state on Sunday. Speaking to The Hitavada, State Election Commissioner Ajay Singh said that all arrangements have been completed for the third phase of three-tier Panchayat elections The Panchayat elections will be held through ballot papers. The colours of the ballot papers are pink for Zila Panchayat member, yellow for Janpad Panchayat Member, blue for Sarpanch and white for Panch election. Tabulation and election results for the posts of Panch, Sarpanch, Janpad Panchayat Members and Zila Panchayat Members will be announced at the block level on February 25 for the third phase.

 

Polling will be held from 7 am to 3 pm, while in Bastar division, voting will take place from 6.45 am to 2 pm. The elections will be held for the posts of Panchs, Sarpanchs, Janpad Panchayat members and Zila Panchayat members. According to the State Election Commission, counting of votes will be held at the polling stations immediately after polling. Under the third phase, the elections will be held for the posts of 30,990 Panchs, 3802 Sarpanchs, 1122 Janpad Panchayat Members and 145 Zila Panchayat Members. 76,199 candidates are in the fray for the posts of Panch, 17,191 candidates for the posts of Sarpanch, 4,659 candidates for the posts of Janpad Panchayat Member and 839 candidates for the posts of Zila Panchayat

 

Member. Total 53,25,673 voters including 26,36,380 male voters, 26,89,226 female voters and 67 third gender voters will exercise their franchise under the third phase of elections. Polling will be conducted in Kota and Takhatpur blocks of Bilaspur district, Marwahi block of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district, Pathariya block of Mungeli district, Balouda and Pamgarh blocks of Janjgir-Champa district, Sakti block of Sakti district, Katghora and Pali blocks of Korba district, Tamnar, Lailunga and Gharghoda blocks of Raigarh district, Sargarh block of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district, Odgi and Pratappur blocks of Surajpur district, Wadrafnagar and Ramchandrapur blocks of Balrampur, Lundra and Batauli blocks of Surguja district, Baikunthpur block of Korea district, Bharatpur block of Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district, Farsabahar,
