A FINE all-round show by captain Riyansh Gupta helped NCA ‘A’ boys win the VCA U16 Inter-Academy One-Day Cricket Tournament 2025 on Sunday. In a keenly-contested final, played at the SB City College ground, NCA boys dismissed SGR Academy for 190 runs and reached the target, losing seven wickets. Riyansh, who claimed three wickets with the ball, later chipped in with a crucial knock of 25 runs to be adjudged as the Player of the Match. SGR Academy’s Kashyap Pataskar top-scored with 74.
 
He was well supported by Erroju Thakshil (51). For NCA, Riyansh, Viraaj Maheshwari and Ayush Dwivedi claimed three wickets apiece. Opener Atharva Patel set the tone of the chase with a polished 43, while Agranya Chatterjee contributed 33. Even though NCA lost a couple of quick wickets, they managed to pull it off in the last over. Brief scores: SGR Cricket Academy 190 all out in 43.5 overs (Kashyap Pataskar 74, Erroju Thakshil 51; Viraaj Maheshwari 3-25, Riyansh Gupta 3-36, Aayush Dwivedi 3-47).
