NAGPUR’S star badminton player Ritika Thaker has got into a habit of winning medals at almost every tournament she participates. Ritika and Navaneeth claimed bronze medal in the mixed doubles at Uganda International. In the Round of 32, the pair of Ritika-Navaneeth was up against Adam Mwebe and Amitu Oduka. The top seeds Indians beat them 21-9, 21-9. In the Round of 16, they were up against Fred Momanyi and Jacita Singere and prevailed 21-6, 21-15. In the quarter-finals, Ritika-Navaneeth defeated compatriots Anuj Kale and Pranika Holkar in tough 3 games. The scores reading 21-19, 12-21, 21-19. In the semi-finals, Ritika and Navaneeth surrendered meekly to Dhruv Rawat and Manisha K with the score reading 13-21, 13-21 to be satisfied with a bronze. Ritika is practising with international coach Arun Vishnu in Nagpur.
