The Madhya Pradesh Association of Women Entrepreneurs (MAWE) conducted a wokshop on the Union Budget 2025, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, on Saturday. During the discussion MAWE office bearers praised the budget, terming it a significant step for women entrepreneurs.
Addressing the workshop senior office bearers of the Association described the provision of term loans up to Rs 2 crore for first-time women entrepreneurs a key highlight of the budget. They said it will enable women entrepreneurs to start new ventures. Over the next five years, about 5 lakh entrepreneurs are expected to benefit from this initiative.
Likewise, the budget has increased funding support for women-led MSMEs, ensuring greater financial assistance for their enterprises. Another major announcement is the revision in the income tax slab, raising the exemption limit from Rs 7 lakh to Rs 12 lakh per year. This Rs 5 lakh increase in the tax exemption threshold is expected to benefit individuals across various sectors.
During the discussion, MAWE’s Founder President, Dr. Archana Bhatnagar described the budget provisions as highly encouraging for women entrepreneurship.
