During his visit to the Butibori industrial area on Sunday, Counsel General of US to Mumbai Mike Hankey has shown keen interest in the recent growth and development of the region. His visit is expected to pave the way for transformation of Butibori MIDC into a major manufacturing hub, with a focus on minerals, electronic hardware, IT and tourism.
Mike Hankey visited the industrial area along with a high level delegation of senior Government officers who also interacted with office-bearers of the Butibori Manufacturers Association (BMA). The visitors discussed various issues with the regional entrepreneurs and explored potential investment opportunities in Asia's largest industrial area. On the occasion, Puneet Mahajan and Jeevan Ghime, both office-bearers of BMA, told Hankey that Butibori industrial area can be a game changer destination for investors.
“It is equipped with all modern facilities. Moreover, the area is well connected with rail, road and air giving it an edge over other locations. American companies can set up units in Butibori or any other district of Vidarbha to leverage the US demand supply gap,” said Ghime.
Puneet Mahajan said Mike Hankey’s visit is expected to have a profound impact on the region’s economy, creating new opportunities for businesses, entrepreneurs, and individuals alike in coming days.
In addition to this, representatives from various associations presented a comprehensive roadmap for the region’s development. Chief Secretary, Government of Maharashtra Sujata Saunik; District Collector Dr Vipin Itankar; SP Nagpur Rural Harssh Poddar; Joint CEO MIDC Dr Vijay Rathod and other officers were also present.
