Jabalpur NCC Group has added a golden chapter in the history by claiming CM Banner for the first time in 78 years. On February 5, 2025, in a grand ceremony at CM House Bhopal, Brigadier AG Barbare, Group Commander, NCC Jabalpur received the prestigious CM Banner from Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav.
Jabalpur Group has been awarded this honour and this achievement becomes even more significant as Jabalpur Group secured first position among all groups in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh Directorate.
The group’s outstanding performance was also recognised by the Governor in a special ceremony at Raj Bhavan, Bhopal on February 4. The success story was crafted by 22 exceptional NCC cadets who not only brought laurels at the Republic Day Camp 2025 but also elevated Jabalpur Group to new heights of excellence.
The achievement marks a watershed moment in the group’s history, showcasing the perfect synergy between dedicated leadership and cadet potential.
Colonel Vikrant Tyagi, SM, Commanding Officer and his team led by Colonel Saurabh Chouhan, Adm Officer of 1 MP Arty Regt leading the group contigent, along with Havildar Pradeep and Hav Sushil Kumar, Orchestrated this success through meticulous planning and execution of training, demonstrated exceptional coordination and strategic preparation.
Colonel Anshu, Deputy Commander Group, played a pivotal role in Best Cadet and cultural events preparation, while Colonel Dinesh of 2 MP Girls Battalion contributed significantly to cultural events success.
Their combined expertise created a comprehensive training framework that proved instrumental in achieving this historic feat. Subedar Major Rakesh Kumar and his team of handful PI Staff from 1 MP Artillery Regiment exhibited extraordinary dedication in managing logistics and resources and innovative approach to resource management and training methodology set new standards for NCC group across the region.
Brigadier Barbare, Group Commander, remarked that this achievement reflects collective effort of the entire team and the unwavering spirit of the cadets.
The support from all units, especially 1 MP Artillery Regiment, created a perfect ecosystem for nurturing talent and achieving excellence. The success at RDC 2025 and subsequent first position in the directorate stood as a testament to Jabalpur Group’s commitment to excellence.

As a part of the Mukhyamantri e-Scooty Yojana, the Chief Minister distributed e-scooties to 7,900 talented students across the state. These students had excelled in the Class 12 board examinations conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE). In a symbolic gesture of encouragement, Dr. Yadav handed over the keys of e-scooties to 10 meritorious students and even rode alongside them to celebrate their achievement. Among the students presented with the keys were Aditya Rathore, Prashant Rajput, Siddharth Sahu, Rafat Khan, Aryan Rajput, Akash Kushwaha, Babli Meena, Palak Singh, Usha Meena, and Saloni Dangi.
