Combined team of Crime Branch, Panagar and Sanjeevani Nagar police apprehended two miscreants and seized two pistols and sharp edged weapons from them in separate cases. The arrested have been identified as Aman Dahiya (18), a resident of Paraswada Dhanwantinagar and Ansh Patel (19), of Azad Ward, Panagar.
Crime Branch received reliable information that Aman Dahiya was waiting under the Kachhpura Bridge to sell illegal firearms and knives. Acting on the tip-off, the police surrounded and apprehended Aman Dahiya, who was found carrying two country-made pistols, two cartridges, and two knives in a bag. During interrogation, Aman revealed that he had bought the weapons from Ramraja Dubey, a resident of Panna Pawai, for Rs 25,000. Ramraja Dubey had previously been caught in a similar arms dealing case.
The police seized the illegal firearms and initiated proceedings under Sections 25, 27, 29A, and 29B of the Arms Act. Efforts are underway to arrest Ramraja Dubey.
In a separate case, Panagar Police Station received a tip-off about a person named Ansh Patel, alias Denny Patel, carrying a pistol and threatening people in Azad Ward, Panagar. Upon reaching the location, the police found a young man matching the informant’s description
carrying a pistol. The police arrested him and seized the firearm. He was identified as Ansh Patel of Azad Ward, Panagar. A case was registered under the Arms Act.
The successful operations were led by SHO of Sanjeevni Nagar, BD Dwivedi, along with ASI, Shrikant Mishra and others while the Panagar team was led by SI, SN Dubey, ASI, Binod Patel and their team.
