Ipca Laboratories, one of the leading pharmaceutical companies, is all set to start operations at its Hingni plant in Wardha district. Premchand Godha, Executive Chairman of the company, announced this here on Saturday. “The company will start making bulk drugs from Apr-May this year and there will be job opportunities for more than 250 persons,” he said while interacting with media persons.
Hingni plant, having investment of Rs 250 crore will be the company’s first plant in Vidarbha, he said. The manufacturer of pharmaceutical formulations, active pharma ingredients and its intermediates, the company has 31 plants spread across the country. Ipca Laboratories was established in 1949 in Mumbai.
Present management took over the company in 1975 and transformed Ipca as a global integrated pharma company producing pharmaceutical formulations, active pharma ingredients and its intermediates. Last financial year, Ipca Group achieved consolidated turnover of Rs 7,800 crore and Ipca is 16th largest and fastest growing pharma company in India for domestic market.“We have over 20,000 employees in India and overseas,” he said.Ipca exports to over 120 countries across the 6 continents. “We are an integrated pharmaceutical company that manufactures over 350 formulations and 80 APIs and key intermediates for various therapeutic segments. Our plants are approved by world’s most stringent drug regulatory authorities like USFDA, UK-MHRA, EDQM-Europe, WHO-Geneva, Brazil, Mexico, Russia, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, among others,” he said.
