All nine unions of the public sector banks under the banner of United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) have protested against the Government policies by wearing badge during work hours at their respective branches on Friday. About 12,000 bank employees took part in the badge wearing campaign in the city. Bank employees under the banner of EMBEA had organised massive demonstrations, in front of Bank of India, Kingsway, Nagpur, demanding their aforesaid demands here in which more than 500 members took part with enthusiasm demonstrating banker’s solidarity. Jaiwant Gurway and Suresh Bobhate, Chairman and General Secretary of Eastern Maharashtra Bank Employees Association (EMBEA) registered their presence.
Bank employees wore badges at work to register their protest against the Government for not implementing their long pending demands like adequate recruitment in banks, implementation of 5 day banking, resolving pending issues, put a stop on outsourcing bank jobs besides it’s intention to reduce Government’s stake in PSB / de-nationalisation of banks.
As a part of joint action programmes UFBU has given the call for a badge wearing campaign Friday February 28, 2025 outlining their fair and just demands, displaying their solidarity againat Government policies. The badge wearing campaign was undertaken at all levels throughout the country.
