“Jewellery transcends time and trends; it connects the past, present and the future. And at Airaawat, our signature brand, each piece masterfully transformed from cut diamonds and designed with other precious and semi-precious stones, is an exquisite piece of art. We invest our soul in each artistic piece; we pay great attention to blending age-old techniques with contemporary aesthetics, thus ensuring that each piece of jewellery is a statement piece that reflects the magnificence of Indian heritage while catering to modern-day sensibilities,” states Komal Baheti, a CA by profession, who, after her marriage into a business family of Jaipur, is now fully invested in the family owned jewellery business.
Till recently, the Bahetis, who have been in the profession for the last forty years, dealing mainly in emeralds, were known for supplying precious stones of the highest grades to jewellery houses across the country. "As the younger generation also became a part of the decision making process of the business, they wanted to diversify and wanted to be on the front stage where they could connect with the clients.
And Airaawat was born," apprises Komal. Polki, known for its uncut diamonds and intricate craftsmanship is what they focused on. The set up includes a number of professional designers, freelancers who translate the vision of the family into timeless designs. They have helped keep the cultural essence alive in their designs, as is evident from the pieces inspired by the jharokas of Rajasthan, important monuments from across the world, the temples of South India - to name a few. “Investment in jewellery is for a lifetime, and as it is passed on from generation to generation, it becomes an heirloom. The highlight of our collection is that no two pieces are alike. In today's fashion landscape, Polki is a coveted choice for weddings and celebrations.”
Wanting to have a personal connect with the customers, the Bahetis have been taking the exhibition from city to city, and
everywhere the response has been phenomenal.
“We bring a soul of Jaipur through carefully curated Polki jewellery that celebrates the natural brilliance of the uncut stones.” The exhibition, at Tuli Imperial, will remain open on May 12 from 10 am to 7 pm.
