The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has recently sent a letter to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman requesting her to extend the date of payment of tax u/s 128A of the CGST Act, (Amnesty Scheme of GST) from March 31, 2025 to May 31, 2025. “Taking into consideration the financial hardship faced by the tax payers at the time of closure of Financial Year, it is requested that the payment date under Amnesty Scheme may kindly be extended.

 

The extension if granted would provide sufficient time to the taxpayers to take advantage of the scheme which would generate higher revenue to the Government and relief to the tax payer,” said B C Bhartia, National President of Confederation of All India Traders.
