Jhanvi bags 1000m gold

 

CITY’S talented athlete Jhanvi Hirudkar won gold medal in 1000m race at Maharashtra State Open Youth Championship held at Priyadarshini Park, Mumbai on Sunday. In the Under-18 age group, Jhanvi of Hindu Mulinchi Shala and Junior College, Mahal, finished first. She completed the distance in 2.58 minutes.

 

Her performance has earned her a berth in Maharashtra squad for the 20th National Youth Championship to be held in Patna from March 10. Jhanvi trains under school PTI Ashfaque Shaikh. Stree Shikshan Prasarak Mandal’s President Ravindra Fadnavis, Seema Fadnavis, Headmistress Maya Bamnote, Subodh Ashtikar, Rahul Bobde and others congratulated the athlete and wished her luck for upcoming event.
