Dear students, Mathematics is an indispensable part of our life. Different topics of the syllabus are related to various activities of daily life. Maths is also important for the SSC Board exam point of view. It’s one of the scoring subjects in which you can score 100%. It requires proper study, revision and practice to solve question papers of board pattern. The pattern of Activity Sheet for Maths I and II is same. They include different types of questions. Let’s look into the activity sheet MCQ and objective type questions: These questions are simple and concept-based or simple calculation type. Be sure while selecting the option for MCQ. For Qu. 1 (B), show the steps of solution. Check your answers and verify it as these are compulsory questions. Activity-based questions (2 or 3 marks) : You have to attempt according to given steps in the activity.

Solve the problems completely. Show all the necessary steps for solution. Don’t treat as fill in the blank only. Underline or put box with pencil in place of the blanks. Short / Long Answer Type (2 or 3 marks): Read the question carefully. Write the given values and what to find. Select the suitable property, formula or theorems required and write them. For proofs, the relevant diagram is necessary. Check the substitution of values of variables twice before beginning solving. Concentrate on each step of calculations to avoid basic mistakes. For Geometric constructions, draw rough figures to get clear idea of the diagram to draw.

Long Answer Type (4 marks): These are long answer, higher order thinking and skill-type questions, which are from outside the text book but related to syllabus. Read question carefully and understand meaning of every word in the sentence. You can use rough figures for understanding the concept. Selection of suitable formulae, diagram, properties or theorem to explain the answer is very important. Apply theorem or properties carefully and do calculations with full concentration. For Geometric construction, rough diagram is essential. Creative or Value-based questions (3 marks): This type of question may be completely based on the flow chart, paragraph-based, value based, framing question, etc. On solving, read question and understand it. Follow the instructions given in question strictly.

Explain all steps with suitable diagram, formula, property or theorem.

Review in the syllabus:
Maths I
1. Revise all chapters with sub topics.
2. Prefer the chapters with which you are confident.
3. Probability, Arithmetic Progression, Statistics and Linear Equations in two variables are the scoring chapters. Revise their formulas, methods and word problems.
4. Go through the methods of solving quadratic equations and other topics. Do some calculations on Financial Planning.
Maths II
1. Read theorems. Practise to write proofs of frequently asked theorems. Go through the problems based on theorems.
2. Practice thoroughly for Geometric Constructions. You can have sure marks in this.
3. Revise trigonometric ratios, their values for different angles, identities and their applications.
4. See the formulae of Co ordinate Geometry, Surface Area and Volume . Solve some examples on these formulae.
5. Focus on the problems, theorems and constructions which are asked frequently.
6. Don’t be afraid of HOTS problems as they are from our syllabus only.
IMPORTANT TIPS:
• First attempt those questions in which you are confident.
* Concentrate on each step.
* Should have effective presentation.
* Utilise last 10 minutes to check your answers, methods, substitutions, units, etc.
* Manage time properly.
* Believe in yourself that you will do the best.
All The Best!!
