TEAM Rajesh Nitnawre emerged champions with a comfortable 3-1 win over Team Rishi Dutt in the YMCA badminton tournament played at the Robertson Hall in Civil Lines. In the first game, Team Dutt’s Abhijeet Mandavgane-Jigar S pair beat Team Nitnawre’s Abhijeet Deshpande-Kamal Mohta pair 28-26. However, the tide turned in favour of Team Nitnawre when the pair of Pankaj Ranka-Kamlakar Motghare beat Rishi Dutt-Sanjay 25-21. Thereafter, in the third game, Raju Saoji-Rajesh Nitnawre easily defeated Babil Jain-Ajay Jaisingh 25-14.

 

In final game, Team Rajesh’s Raju Kala and Gunjan Bavatia comfortably overcame the challenge of Ravi Jain-Sunil Sangtani 25-16 to claim the trophy. The winning team members were Rajesh Nitnawre (Captain), Dr Abhijeet Deshpande, Pankaj Ranka, Raju Kala, Kamal Mohta, Raju Saoji, Gunjan Bavatia, Kamlakar Motghare, Sonu G. Sachin Khemuka, Anurag Khemuka, D Rajesh, Raju Thakkar, Gunjan Bavatia and Pravin Jain supported the tournament. YMCA Secretary Neeraj Singh and staff worked hard for the success of the meet.
