Through 1304 Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) camps organised in Durg Municipal Corporation (DMC) limits under Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme (CMUSHS) last year, around 90,000 people residing
in Durg city received free medical treatment.
Free blood test of 21,000
beneficiaries was conducted during the same period of time while free medicines were given to 73,500 people attending the camp. Apart from four MMU vehicles, one ‘Dai-Didi’ Clinic also remained operational last year for serving the patients.
DMC informed that total 32,191 men, 48,527 women, 8944 children and 15 third genders were provided free medical treatment under the scheme in DMC limits in the year 2024.
While women outnumbered men in taking benefits of the CMUSHS, children too visited the camp in large number to take free benefits. Notably, the MMUs also organised special camps for pregnant women, young girls, students of various educational institutes etc.
Moreover, Swachhata Didis engaged in cleanliness work were too benefited from the camp and received free medical treatment. DMC said that the scheme helped people save their money.
