District-level boxing competition concludes

 

 

THE Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj District-Level Boxing Tournament was successfully organised at Reshimbagh ground by CP and Berar Education Society’s Prahar Military School, Ravi Nagar. The two-day event, held recently, witnessed enthusiastic participation across various age groups. Boxers from the Cub Class, Cadet Class, and Sub-Junior categories showcased outstanding performances, making the tournament thrilling for spectators. Winners were felicitated with medals and certificates.

 

halchandra Kagbhat, Director and Management Board Member of Prahar Military School, was present on the occasion. Principal Vandana Kulkarni played a key role in organising the tournament. Ganesh Purohit, Maharashtra’s first NIS boxing coach in 1987, was also present. Purohit has trained over 200 Maharashtra Police officers, 50 defence personnel, and 30 railway employees. The veteran coach has also coached international boxer Alfiya Pathan, an Asian gold medallist. His student Lavanshu Kharadkar now coaches young boxers at Prahar Military School.
