body of one of the two boys who had drowned in Sethji’s Pond located in Gopalbag was fished out after overnight search, on Thursday morning. Rescue team is still searching for the second boy’s body. In a shocking incident, two class VIII students of Tamarhai School met with a watery grave at a pond located in Gopalbag on Wednesday. The children were identified as Vaibhav Kori and Pawan Kori. Soon after receiving information, the Kotwali Police team reached the spot and initiated a search for both the children. As per sources, after giving their last paper on Wednesday, the class VIII students of Tamarhai School played Holi and went to take bath in the pond located in Gopalbag. While swimming, they slipped into deep water and drown.
 
The NDERF rescue team initiated search for both the children. After 14 hours of continuous search, the team fished out the body of a student Vaibhav. Seeing Vaibhav’s body, the parents and other family members slipped into shock as it was hard for them that their loved child was no more. The body was sent to NSCBMCH for autopsy. Meanwhile, the rescue team was continue with the search of the missing student Pawan. Since, the pond contains lots of waste materials including water weeds (choi), the team faced difficulty in rescue.
 
According to police, Pawan Kori and Vaibhav Kori, 14 years old, residents of Thakkar village ward Ram Janaki temple, had gone to take bath in the pond located in Gopalbag in Kotwali police station area. During initial investigation after their disappearance, a friend of both the deceased told the family that he saw both of them going towards the pond. When the family reached the pond, they saw that the children’s clothes, shoes, slippers, 100 rupees cash, class VIII Sanskrit paper kept in the shirt pocket, at the bank. On the information of the local people, Kotwali police reached the spot, after which the search for the children in the water was started.
