UNDER the guidanceof Divisional Railway Manager Devashish Tripathi, continuous efforts are being made to ensure the safety of railway passengers. In a recent incident at Bhopal Railway Station, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel demonstrated vigilance and promptness, saving the life of a woman passenger and performing a commendable act. The incident occurred approximately when train number 19484 Barauni-Ahmedabad Express was passing through platform number 1 of Bhopal Station without stopping. During this time, a 24-yearold woman passenger named Neha, a resident of Bhopal, who was travelling from Lalitpur to Bhopal, mistakenly boarded the train. When she realised that the train would not stop at Bhopal station, she panicked and attempted to disembark from the moving train onto the platform. Due to loss of balance, she began to fall between the train and the platform. Seeing this situation, RPF Constable Sunil Kumar, who was on duty there, made a quick decision and promptly grabbed the woman passenger, pulling her safely out.

Had Constable Sunil Kumar not reacted in time, a major accident could have occurred. His alertness and presence of mind saved the woman’s life. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria commented on the incident, stating, “Railway administration gives top priority to the safety of passengers. This example of courage and prompt action shown by Constable Sunil Kumar reflects the commitment of the railway. We appeal to passengers not to attempt to board or disembark from a moving train under any circumstances during the journey; it can be life-threatening. The railway’s security force remains vigilant at all times, but it is also necessary for passengers to be aware of their own safety.” The railway administration has praised the commendable work of Constable Sunil Kumar. The railway is continuously striving to ensure the safety of passengers and appeals to passengers to remain vigilant, learning from such incidents.
