KANPUR :

RASHTRIYA Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat on Monday praised Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar for his “lifelong efforts to unite Hindus”, saying despite facing hardships since childhood, he remained committed to social harmony and national development. Speaking at the inauguration of the newly constructed four-storey RSS regional office ‘Keshav Bhawan’ in Kanpur’s Karavalo Nagar, Bhagwat said, “Babasaheb had to face severe hardships in his life. From childhood, he faced discrimination and inequality.

“Yet, throughout his life, he tried to bring the Hindu society together. His commitment to social unity and progress is an inspiration to all,” he said. Bhagwat also drew parallels between Ambedkar and RSS founder Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, stating that both men devoted their lives to the upliftment of society and shared a vision of national development. “Both Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Hedgewar worked for the Hindu society throughout their lives. They dreamed of a strong and developed India,” Bhagwat said. He called it a privilege that the inauguration of the RSS’s new building coincided with Ambedkar Jayanti.

PUNE :

RASHTRIYA Swayamsevak Sangh RSS leader Sunil Ambekar said on Monday that Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar had taken steps to foster unity within society, particularly among the Hindu community. The Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh asserted that the country operates solely by the Constitution. “People may not have understood it at the time, but with the passage of years, we now understand the steps Ambedkar took to keep the society, especially the Hindu community, united,” Ambekar told reporters after paying tribute to the Father of the Constitution at his memorial at Pune railway station on the occasion of his 134th birth anniversary. “Regardless of who says what, this country functions as per the Constitution,” he added. He said while drafting the Constitution, Ambedkar realised that solutions to the issues faced by the nation must be sought internally rather than externally. He urged citizens to reject discrimination and work towards building a society rooted in harmony. “If differences crop up among communities due to some political reasons, people should remember Dr Ambedkar,” he added.
