Now, students from other districts do not have to come to Nagpur for petty work

About a month ago, acting Vice-Chancellor Dr Madhavi Khode-Chaware had promised in the Senate meeting that Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) would launch Suvidha Kendra on April 15. Fulfilling her promise, now, the Suvidha Kendra is set to start at four places under the jurisdiction of RTMNU.
The institutions in four districts, including Wardha, Gondia, Bhandara and Nagpur, are affiliated to RTMNU. The students studying in these institutions have to come to Nagpur for even petty works.
The Senate members have been demanding that students from other places should get facilities by which they do not need to come to Nagpur. Some Senate members on November 1, 2023 during the meeting had demanded to start RTMNU’s sub-centres. But university had expressed its helplessness as Government did not allow to start it. After the Senate members pursued for an alternate arrangement, the then Vice Chancellor Dr Prashant Bokare had made a provision of Rs 20 lakh for the facility in 2023.
The plan was not getting finalised. In the Senate meeting held on March 21, 2025, Dr Madhavi Khode-Chaware approved the plan and assured the members that the Kendra would begin on April 15, 2025. Finally, the places have been finalised. Initially, the centres will begin at Gondia, Bhandara, Wardha and Katol in Nagpur district.
