SAHEJVEER Singh Maras and Shraddha Bajaj clinched the Nagpur District Under-15 Selection Chess Championship titles for Open and Girls categories respectively whereas Chirag Lahoti and Swara Gandhi won the District Under-11 titles in Open and Girls Group respectively. The Nagpur District Under-11 and Under-15 Selection Chess Championship for Open and Girls were organised by Chess Association Nagpur in association with GH Raisoni Sports and Cultural Foundation, MKH Sancheti Group, and Kalpana Prakash Welfare Foundation at Vivekanand Hall, Shraddha House, Kingsway, near Kasturchand Park. In the Under-15 Open Group, Sahejveer, Vishwaditya Awasthi and Mohak Bhagchandani scored five points out of six. Based on tie-break Sahejveer was declared winner and Vishwaditya and Mohak were adjudged second and third respectively. Yuval Mohurle scored 4½ points and stood 4th. In girls Under-15, Shraddha scored six out of six points to clinch the title. Riddhi Agrawal and Divyanshi Khandelwal both scored five points each and were placed second and third.
 
Anvi Hirde scored four points to finish fourth. In the Under-11 Open Group, Chirag Lahoti and Manas Karnase scored 5½ points each out of six and after tie-break, Chirag was declared the winner. Rutam Zanwar and Paris Kubde also scored five points each but were placed third and fourth respectively based on tie-break scores. In the Under-11 girls group, Swara scored 5½ points out of six to annex the title. Anushka Deshpande came second with five points.
 
Ojasvi Poharkar scored 4½ and Nrutya Gurve scored four points to finish third and fourth respectively. Maras, Awasthi, Bhagchandani and Mohurle (Under-15 Open Group), Shraddha, Riddhi, Divyanshi and Anvi (Under-15 Girls Group), Lahoti and Karnase (Under 11 Open Group), Swara Gandhi & Anushka Deshpande (Under-11 Girls Group) will now represent Nagpur in Maharashtra State Under-11 and Under-15 Open and Girls Chess Championship 2025 to be held later this year. Prizes were distributed by Ketan Thakre, social worker and President of Mahalaxmi Welfare Society. Amit Yenurkar, Director, MKH Sancheti Group, former chess player Jayant Katdhare and Bhushan Shriwas, Secretary Chess Association Nagpur were also present. FA Shiva Iyer was the Chief Arbiter and was assisted by FA Amit Tembhurne, SNA Prayas Ambade, SNA Akash Rewatkar and SNA Shyam Agrawal.
