AMAN Mokhade stuck a superb double century to help Ministerial Services Sports Club (MSSC) take control of the MN Dorairajan Trophy final against Reshimbagh Gymkhana at VCA’s Kalamna Ground on Sunday. Replying to Reshimbagh’s tally of 320-9, MSSC lost their skipper Mandar Mahale (0) to the third ball of their innings, but Mokhade led the charge and added 95 runs for the second wicket with Vedant Jajoo (28) and 89 for the third wicket with Shivam Deshmukh (48).

However, it was his 144-run stand for the fifth wicket with Yash Rathod (55) that broke Reshimbagh bowlers’ morale. By the time he was dismissed, Mokhade had faced 262 deliveries and hit 32 boundaries and six sixes and his team’s score read 422-7 in 82.5 overs. MSSC ended up with 453-9 in their 90 overs with a big first innings lead of 133 runs that could well prove to be decisive on the final day.
