THE Young India Unchained (YIU) Club of YCCE, recently conducted a compelling guest lecture by IPS Officer, DCP Mahak Swami on ‘Roles of youth in preventing crime’. Addressing a packed auditorium, she highlighted pressing issues like child trafficking, cybercrime, and drug abuse. Her message emphasised awareness, digital safety, and responsible reporting over vigilantism. She urged students to build strong real-world connections and report suspicious activities. A powerful student-made short film on human trafficking concluded the session.
 
The event was graced by Principal U P Waghe, Student Activity In-charge Vaibhaw Doifode, Club In-charge Pratibha Waghale, YIU mentor John Mathew, and Prakruthi Foundation’s Shalakha Biniwale and Dipali Madavi, along with YIU Student President Gauri Nagpure all of whom have been instrumental supporters of the cause. YIU, active in 50+ colleges, is dedicated to raising awareness on key issues like safety, trafficking, and cybercrime. The session highlighted the power of youth as active changemakers.
