Mazhar Khan, a karate coach from Sandipani School, who is also a prominent figure in the martial arts community, has been selected to lead Team India at the upcoming International Sqay Championship 2025 at Moscow, Russia. The championship is scheduled to be held on April 26–27.
With a legacy spanning over four decades, Mazhar Khan is widely recognised as one of Nagpur’s most respected and accomplished martial arts coaches. His relentless dedication, discipline, and efforts have played a significant role in popularising and flourishing the games of martial arts, especially Sqay in the region and beyond.
He has not only trained school and college students but has also conducted sessions for various branches of the Indian government forces, including the Home Guard, police personnel and Indian Revenue Service (IRS)
officers.
Despite the logistical challenges, Mazhar Khan’s commitment to the sport remains steadfast and inspiring.
Students and faculty at Sandipani School have expressed immense pride in Khan’s accomplishment, acknowledging his contribution not only to the school’s reputation but also to the broader martial arts community in India. “It’s a matter of immense pride to represent and lead India at an international platform,” said Khan.
